Do-follow or no-follow links

Derek Jan 30, 2012 03:06AM EST

Are the links that are pulled into the post snippet from CuratorSoft no-follow or do-follow links and how would this impact on my site's own SEO ranking if all the links going out are do-follow?

Hey Derek,

They are dofollow and that's intentional. The services return dofollow links so that's what we serve up. Imagine me screaming from a rooftop to anybody that will listen: There is no need to worry about dofollow and nofollow links. No follow links were created for sites that attract spammers.

It's the same reason any and all profile URLs at Twitter and the like are nofollow. Creating natural dofollow links in these types of posts is natural and that's what you want.

The SEO benefit of excluding or including them isn't necessary to even worry about. It's our view that the goal of a publisher is to help their readers and other site owners. Making all links nofollow would help the reader but hurt other site owners.

I hope that clears it up for you.
